Neurotoxins are injectable compounds that smooth out wrinkles by relaxing the muscle. There are multiple brands of neurotoxins, Botox being the most well known. At Ivy Aesthetics, we carry Botox (onabotulinumtoxinA), Dysport (abobotulinumtoxinA), and Jeuveau (prabotulinumtoxinA). Both are FDA-approved for anti-aging treatments.

What to Expect During and After Your Treatment:

During your appointment, we will create a customized treatment plan that is just right for you. The results of each treatment last between 3-4 months, however, this is not true for everyone. If you are a fast metabolizer, workout daily, or take stimulant medications such as Adderall, it is possible that results will last less than 3 months.

Neurotoxins are injected with a small needle in a series of targeted injections. Most tolerate this procedure well. If this is your first appointment, there is a brief waiting period to be sure there are no adverse reactions. Then, you may return to your normal activities with no downtime. You may notice some minor swelling or redness that lasts 30-60 minutes.

 

Aftercare

• No laying flat for 4 hours after treatment

• No exercise or vigorous activity for 24 hours after treatment

•  No massaging the treatment area for 24 hours after treatment

• Avoid putting pressure on the affected area for 1 to 3 days

The best time to start getting neurotoxins is when you start to see fine lines and wrinkles at rest. You may notice the lines on your forehead, around your eyes, between your eyebrows, etc. If these lines are treated early on, before they are deeply etched, the treatment tends to be more effective. You may not receive this treatment if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have certain neurological diseases. If you are in good health, our staff would love to answer all your questions and evaluate if this is the right treatment for you.

We also offer Botox parties. These can be held at Ivy Aesthetics, or in the comfort of your own home! We offer a discounted price of $12/unit. A minimum of five people must receive injections. Please reach out if you have any questions or would like to coordinate this service.
